Description
This is a beautful Lake Placid Blue rendition of a 2015 Fender Telecaster. Originally a silver blue color, the body and neck were completely stripped of the poly finish down to bare wood, based coated with white lacquer primer, and then totally redone with a beautiful top finish using nitrocellulose lacquer from Reranch. As you can see in the pictures the Lake Placid blue is a metallic color that just the right amount of sparkle – nothing too overbearing – and the paint changes hue depending on the angle of the light.
The body is made of quality alder wood and neck is very nice maple.
This guitar is equipped with vintage Fender tuner pegs and super sweet DiMarzio True Velvet pickups for a really smooth sound, and true to Telecaster style it has a somewhat twangy sound.
The bridge has totally custom Tusq saddles for easier tuning, and they seem to help keep the strings in tune. The nut is also from Tusq, it’s a custom Tusq XL style.
The guitar has been gently relicked to give it that incredibly cool aged look. This includes slightly aged control plate, bridge plate, tuner pegs, and neck pickup cover. It’s also got the expected slight wear from guitar strap placement, arm rub, and some light buckle rash on the back.
Body cavities are completely shielded with a copper lining to prevent unwanted hum, and all the stock wiring was replaced with high quality vintage cloth wiring.
The control plate has excellent CTS pots, authentic Fender switch, dome topped Fender vintage knobs, and a white switch knob – which is somewhat rare on a Telecaster.
Sounds great, plays great! See the pictures for details. Comes with a Gator hardshell case.
